I totally forgot to post that I went to Download…

For the first time ever, I didn’t turn up on the first day (or before the first day), but ended up getting a lift off Thomas Scissorhands on the Thursday morning, and paying £180 to a tout :(

It was also the first time I had not turned up with far, far too much stuff. I ended up taking 2 cases of Vier and 2 cases of Strongbow (though Ash later gave me another one. Thanks Ash!). Food wise, I took a packet of cocktail sausages (which ended up being barbecued, and then eaten out of a cup with a soup spoon), 2 packets of Jaffa Cakes (which melted and got given away), 2 boxes of bread sticks (which got given away – noticing a pattern here?), and 26 bags of crisps (most of which…).

So what did I do? I drank. I drank 5 cases of beer and cider in 4 days. My liver hates me. I made a bunch of new friends, thanks to camping with Ash and Cyst. I sat there grinning like an idiot for the best part of 4 days, and I asked Dave a LOT of retarded questions.

I saw a bit of Korn, though I fell asleep outside the EA tent during them. I saw Journey (lol), DevilDriver, Dream Theater, and Manson. Out of the 11 bands I wanted to see, I saw 2. Que sera.

Getting back was fun. We walked from Donington to East Midlands Airport, where I proceeded to hang around for a couple of hours, just smoking and drinking water, before deciding I really couldn’t be arsed hanging around anymore, so I left the others to go through to the departure lounge. Upon getting the bus, I ended up with a custard munching spaz sat in front of me. When Rach phoned me, I asked what the time was. The downie thought I was talking to him, so insisted I look at his watch to find out the time, despite having already been told over the phone. From then on, for the next 20 minutes or so, he attempted to answer every single fucking question I asked.

All in all, a pretty decent festival. Next up is Bloodstock. That’s if all the bands haven’t pulled out by then (thanks GWAR and Fear Factory *shakes fist*).

Anyway, here are some pictures I have pilfered from Elaine and Cyst:

Also, thank you to Dave (who has not considered a career in octopus training), for informing me of the existence of square sausage, and to Sam, because I haven’t mentioned her yet.
