Facebook – Go eat a dick.
So a while ago I got banned from facebook for posting some pictures that I probably shouldn’t have (Exhibit A and Exhibit B). Since I know that they don’t actually delete profiles (they just disable them and keep all your information and pictures on file), I thought it might be worth seeing if I could get my pics back, seeing as I don’t have a lot of them backed up.
It wasn’t. This is how the conversation went:

In order to receive support, you must reply to this email to verify that you are the owner of the Facebook account that you referenced in your inquiry. This security step must be completed before Facebook can respond to your inquiry.
In addition, note that Facebook will only be able to provide assistance if you are writing in from the email address that you used to log in to your Facebook profile that’s disabled. If your disabled profile was registered under a different email address, then you will need to respond directly from that email address. To do this, take the following steps:
? Copy the exact email address you see in the “From” field of this email (ending in @support.facebook.com).
? Log in to the email account under which your disabled Facebook profile was registered.
? Compose a new email. Paste the address you copied (ending in @support.facebook.com) into the “To” field, let us know you’re responding from your disabled email address in the body, and click “Send.”
Once we have this information, we will take further steps to assist you. Remember that writing in multiple times will not result in a faster response. Once you submit your initial request, it is placed in a queue and responded to accordingly.
Lastly, you may not create another account using a different email address while you are waiting for a response. Creating more than one Facebook account is a violation of our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, and violations of this rule could result in all of your accounts being permanently disabled.

? Creating or uploading content that is pornographic, sexually suggestive, or contains nudity
? Harassing other people with sexually explicit language
? Sending unsolicited friend requests or Inbox messages to people you don’t know
You will no longer be able to use Facebook. This decision is final and cannot be appealed.

When a Facebook account is disabled, the profile and all information associated with it are immediately made inaccessible to other Facebook users. Facebook does not use information associated with disabled accounts which means that none of this information will be visible on the site.
Unfortunately, for safety and security reasons, we cannot delete from our servers information associated with disabled accounts. We also cannot grant you access to a disabled account to retrieve content, nor can we provide you with any content that was associated with this account. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. This decision is final and cannot be appealed.

| So what you’re saying is that you have the pictures, but are not willing to give them to me? Surely if they are on the server, you could just save the pictures and email them to me, meaning that I don’t need access to the account.
Again… I am not interested in having the account back – I just want to keep the pictures, as I have no other backup.
May I also ask exactly why you need to keep pictures of me on your servers “for safety and security reasons”? |
So the jist of it is… Facebook are keeping my pictures, Facebook will not give me access to backup my pictures, and Facebook will not delete my pictures.
My conclusion is this:
Facebook, you are a bunch of faggots. This decision is final and cannot be appealed.
